After many ups and downs throughout the season, the College Football Playoff National Championship is finally set. The No. 3 TCU Horned Frogs (13-1) will take on the No. 1 Georgia Bulldogs (14-0) on Jan. 9 from Inglewood, California.

Georgia opens up as the early betting favorite at FanDuel Sportsbook. The Bulldogs are 13.5-point favorites over the Horned Frogs as of the early morning on Jan. 1.

The night began perfectly for fans in Ohio with TCU (+7.5) stunning the Michigan Wolverines in an instant classic. The teams took turns trading blows before a couple of late stops by the Horned Frogs’ defense saw them pull off the 51-45 upset. Sonny Dykes’ squad will now look to win its first national championship since 1938. They are undeniably the Cinderella story in this year’s College Football Playoff seeing as they’re coming up against the reigning national champions.

TCU — who is relatively new to this stage — will have its hands full with a perennial powerhouse in the Bulldogs.

Ohio State jumped out to an early 21-7 lead in its semifinal, but 17 unanswered from Georgia had Buckeyes fans worrying as halftime loomed. Ryan Day’s team put together a masterful drive to cap off the first half to take a 28-24 lead into the locker room, and they wouldn’t look back until there was under a minute left in the game. The Bulldogs scored the go-ahead touchdown with 54 seconds remaining and Ohio State missed a field goal at the death to send the defending champions back to the big dance.
